"People with disabilities have been discriminated against, limited, and boxed in for long enough. It's everyone's responsibility to change themselves and the social/political climate. After working with people with disabilities, I no longer assume than I have any idea what it is like to be in someone else's shoes. I have persistence, determination, depth, compassion, and empathy. SAIL taught me that there is a place in the world where I can make a difference."
- Judy Vivian
Superior Alliance for Independent Living
At Superior Alliance for Independent Living, a member of The Disability Network of Michigan), it's in our power to change everything, from individual lives to the wider community.
Every year, we help over 1,000 people with disabilities and their families lead more productive lives in the Upper Peninsula. But our efforts don't just benefit them. They help everyone, with or without disabilities, who lives in, works in, or passes through our community.
